Resumen:
Successful crop growth requires adequate greenhouse climate conditions that can be achieved by means of advanced control techniques that may be based on reliable models of the greenhouse climate. In the southeast of Spain, one of the main problems is greenhouse cooling by natural ventilation. During recent years, several advanced control techniques have been developed such as adaptive control (Sigrimis et al. 1999), and predictive and feedforward controls (Rodríguez et al., 2001), etc. Model development is a complex task that depends on the process dynamics.
